K2 TASO Distributes Vital Chlorine to Vulnerable Households in Kasungu
KASUNGU, MALAWI – In a critical move to safeguard public health, K2 Tigwiranemanja AIDS Support Organisation (K2 TASO) has intensified its efforts to provide safe water access by distributing chlorine to hundreds of poor households across Kasungu. This initiative forms a central pillar of the organization’s mission to promote livelihood security and health among the district’s most vulnerable populations.
Strategic Health Intervention
With waterborne diseases like cholera remaining a threat in rural Malawi, K2 TASO’s distribution provides a lifeline for families who often rely on unsafe water sources. By providing chlorine for home water treatment, the organization is directly reducing the risk of illness, which in turn helps keep children in school and ensures that adults can remain productive.
Executive Director Peter Minjale emphasized the holistic nature of this support:
"We are an organization that promotes livelihood security... ensuring that people have access to clean water, good nutrition, and a general good environment. This support is part of our wide range of social assistance provided to vulnerable families"
